This is my private home, so I am very careful about who stays here. We will write back and forth and/or speak by phone to make sure it is a good situation for both of us before your booking will be confirmed. Once we’ve both decided it’s a good fit, I’ll request a 50% deposit via check or Paypal. Top floor of 6-story elevator building, 24/7 door men. Laundry in hallway around the corner from apartment. Non-smoking house, but since the room for rent has a private balcony, you’re welcome to smoke on it.

Mid 20s/early 30s female medical students, art gallery intern, indie filmmaker. Low key, friendly atmosphere, people usually in bed by 11:00 or 12:00, don’t bring the party home. Shoes off house (streets are dirty, floors are new!). Please be tidy in common areas, no dishes in sink, take turns taking out trash/recycle. Three bedrooms and one bathroom, with people’s varying schedules (some day, some evening), the bathroom hasn’t been an issue. Sofabed in the livingroom with a curtain across the hallway for privacy for out of town guests, who are welcomed. But sorry, no live-in girlfriend/boyfriends, it just gets to be too many people, so we have a “2 nights per week” policy for girl/boyfriends.

Apartment is close to most subway lines. A/D and 2/3 around the corner, 4/5/6, J five minutes’ walk, R seven minutes walk. PATH trains 7 minutes walk. Staten Island and Ikea Ferries eight mins walk. Laid back neighborhood with 24/7 groceries, diners, shops, pubs, banks, City Hall Park, Battery Park (with river views), boat tours, etc. Pier 17 shopping and restaurants are five mins walk. Short trip to East Village night life. Century 21 & Broadway shopping walking distance. Near West Side bike path that takes you all the way to Inwood.

Required to rent: first month’s rent, last month’s rent, & deposit. One roommate and one professional reference.
